  1. The reason that the manna tasted like “honey” is that the manna foreshadowed the “bread of life” (i.e. Jesus as the Word of God). Psalms 119:103 says “How sweet is Your word to my taste, yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth”.

So, the manna tasting like honey is a “type” of Jesus as the Word of God, who, as the “bread of life”, speaks sweet, honey-like words. This is also why the scrolls delivered by angels to various OT prophets for eating, are “bitter” (This Age), yet “sweet” (Next Age) tasting at the same time. The Word of God is “sweet”!

  2. It’s also why Deborah is in the Book of Judges. Deborah means “bee” in Hebrew. Hence, the connection with the “honey” in Psalms 119:103.

Also, Samson, when the “jawbone” of an ass brought forth “honeycomb”!!
