  1. Hi there, aren’t we righteous because of Christ work then or how do you look at the sin offering vs righteousness in 2 Cor 5? I always thought we became righteous because of Vhrists work

      1. Where, in which other texts then do we see that we are righteous because of Christs work? And do we then receive Christs righteousness of Gods righteousness?

This texts seems to say something about that or am I crazy?

      2. Union with Christ is the key doctrine here. Because we are united with Christ, we receive a new standing in him. There isn’t a transferral so much as a reckoning of us to be in good standing with God because we are his.

  2. So then what makes us righteous? Our being in Christ? God then sees us as righteous? Or when, who or what makes us get that status?
Are there more texts or studies about becoming a righteous one before God because of Christ?

    Thanks Alastair.

    1. We are righteous because Christ our head is righteous. We enjoy right standing with God because Christ has died for our sins and because he has been vindicated, raised to God’s right hand, and we are united to him through faith. Much of Romans is about this.
